FireK is rather unique in the non-profit world because its first focus is the individual.  Charitable foundations, when considering grant funding requests, most frequently endow groups with wide spread community reach.  Our objectives aimed at awareness, education, and facilitation of early cancer screening for the fire service community is a mission that (we hope) will be deemed worthy of grant funding in the near future.  However, our primary mission - to help individual fire service families with direct financial assistance - is destined to go to the bottom of the list every time.  Because of this reality, donations from individuals will always be crucial to FireK' s ability to send direct cash disbursements to approved nominees.
